MIRYAM CERA
Miryam Cera is an accomplished designer with a deep passion for building beautiful and functional products. Her philosophy is simple: design from the inside out, merging aesthetics, functionality, cost engineering and fun to produce powerful creations, from bags and accessories to pet products.
Inspired by current industry trends and the latest research, Miryam takes a holistic approach to her practice, considering each brand’s unique DNA, as well as their design identity, production capabilities and costing. With a proven track record of successful collaborations across product design and development, Miryam combines big picture thinking with hands-on execution to achieve her client’s goals.
She started out in apparel, designing everything from sportswear to swimwear. But when Miryam wasn’t at work, she was analyzing handbags, on other women and on the shelves of boutiques and vintage shops. Miryam would mentally deconstruct them, assessing the materials, hardware and design. Intrigued by the challenge of engineering something both beautiful and functional, she shifted her creative focus to designing bags and accessories, which turned out to be her true calling.
Miryam is the former Director of Style Design and Product Development at Lesportsac, New York, where she led the style design team in research and design for global development, including special collaborations with Benefit Cosmetics, Erickson Beamon, Manoush, Liberty of London, Paul & Joe, Alber Elbaz, and Olympia Le Tan. Over the course of her career, she has worked for and advised some of the biggest names in the industry, including The Gap, Fila, Liz Claiborne, Norma Kamali, Ralph Lauren, Oscar De La Renta and more.
